Travel back in time at event
Now in its third year, Baston in the Blitz 2016, taking place this weekend (August 6 and 7) is promised to be bigger and better than ever before.
Every aspect of the event has grown, including more vintage traders, more reenactors and many more World War Two living history displays.
An exciting new feature at this year’s event will be the livefirepowerdemonstrations and battle re-enactments to be held on both days in the display arena.
Visitors will also be able to experience the mighty roar of a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, asfittedtotheSpitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster during World War Two, being run up to full throttle.
This year’s static aircraft d i s p l ays w i l l i n c l ud e a Hawker Hurricane and a Messerschmitt Bf109.
The high-point of the day for many visitors is a flypast by the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
The event will be open both Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. Entry is £6 adults, £4 senior citizens and free for children aged under 16.
