A record break­ing mu­sic star is set to wow thou­sands of fans at a huge gig in the city. Cana­dian pop star Bryan Adams, who holds the record for the long­est run at num­ber one in the charts with ‘Ev­ery­thing I Do, I Do It For You’ will play a spec­tac­u­lar con­cert on Peter­bor­ough’ s Em­bank­ment on Fri­day night, with more than 9,000 fans ex­pected through the gates.

Bryan said: “I’m re­ally en­joy­ing my Get Up Tour and am look­ing for­ward to head­ing to Peter­bor­ough. Peo­ple can ex­pect two hours of mu­sic, and the crowds in the UK are al­ways fan­tas­tic.”

Coun­cil­lor Janet Good­win, Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil cab­i­net mem­ber for city cen­tre man­age­ment, cul­ture and tourism, said: “To have an artist of the in­ter­na­tional stature of Bryan Adams com­ing to per­form in Peter­bor­ough is a real coup for the city.

“He has sold a huge num­ber of al­bums and sin­gles in the UK through­out his ca­reer and I am sure many of his fans in Peter­bor­ough can’t wait for his show on The Em­bank­ment to ar­rive.”

Gates for the show open at 6pm, with the show start­ing at 8pm. Res­i­dents are warned about traf­fic con­ges­tion in the area when the con­cert fin­ish- es at about 10pm.
