Man injured while trapped by hearse
Fire crews responded to an unusual call in Chatteris following reports of a man trappedunderaglasshearse carriage.
Firefighters attended Round House Drove at 11.30am on Thursday, August 4, and used airbags and mechanical equipment to free the man. He had become pinned by the legs while unloading the horse drawnhearse from the back of an LDV van.
The East of England Am- bulance Service sent a rapid responsevehicle, ambulance officer, ambulancecrew, and the Magpas air ambulance.
At the scene the man, believed to be in his 40s, was treated for a serious leg injury and he was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
