Ex­tra­di­tion to take place in Rikki case

Ex­tra­di­tion pro­ceed­ings are tak­ing place to bring a man ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of mur­der­ing Peter­bor­ough school­boy Rikki Neave back to the UK.

JamesWat­son(35) wasar­rested un­der­aEuro­peanAr­rest War­rantinPor­tu­gal­last weekon­sus­pi­cionof­breach­ing his licence.

A Cam­bridgeshire po­lice spokesman­saidWat­son­had ap­peared in a Por­tuguese court on Thurs­day, Au­gust 3, and­was­not­fight­ingex­tra­di­tion pro­ceed­ings.

The force was given 10 days to bring him­back­tothe UK, and the spokesman said it was ex­pected he would be back in Bri­tain by the end of the week.

Wat­son, of Peter­bor­ough, is due to an­swer po­lice bail in con­nec­tion with the 1994 mur­der of 6-year-old Rikki on Septem­ber 20.
