Af­ter­noon tea to be served in chapel

On ev­ery Sun­day af­ter­noon in Au­gust af­ter­noon tea is be­ing served at the Methodist Chapel, El­ton, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Ev­ery­one is in­vited and do­na­tions are ap­pre­ci­ated for the Chapel’s Roof Fund. El­ton Par­ish Church has ar­ranged a spe­cial pro­gramme to cel­e­brate the suc­cess of its Stained Glass Restora­tion Ap­peal for the first week­end in Septem­ber. On Fri­day (2nd) there will be Pre-Raphaelite Flower ar­range­ments staged in the church; on Satur­day (3rd) there will be a barn dance and BBQ at the Black Horse pub­lic house. Tick­ets £12 avail­able from El­ton Post Of­fice. On Sun­day (4th) at 3pm there will be a spe­cial cel­e­bra­tion ser­vice at the Par­ish Church to mark the suc­cess­ful Stained Glass Win­dow Ap­peal. This will be fol­lowed with a talk by the win­dow re­stor­ers, plus a pre­sen­ta­tion to the win­ners of the Chil­dren’s “De­sign a Win­dow” com­pe­ti­tion. Tea will be served after­wards.
