Group to sup­port women at work

A new group is be­ing set up in Peter­bor­ough to fo­cus on the development of women in the work­place. The Peter­bor­ough Women’s Development Com­mu­nity will be launched on Septem­ber 22 at the Al­lia Cen­tre at the Abax Foot­ball Sta­dium, in Lon­don Road, at 4pm. Anna Lee, one of the found­ing mem­bers, said: “A great deal of in­spi­ra­tion can be gained by shar­ing chal­lenges, along with suc­cess sto­ries and ex­plor­ing development top­ics to­gether. “Here in Peter­bor­ough we want to en­cour­age lo­cal women who as­pire to be­come man­agers, lead­ers or en­trepreneurs to be­come part of a strong and ex­cit­ing com­mu­nity fo­cused on women’s development in the work­place. “We are cre­at­ing an en­er­gis­ing and in­spir­ing com­mu­nity of pro­fes­sional women in Peter­bor­ough. “We in­creas­ingly hear about the pos­i­tive ben­e­fits of hav­ing a di­verse work­force. In par­tic­u­lar, com­pa­nies with the high­est rep­re­sen­ta­tion of women on their se­nior man­age­ment teams have a 35 per cent higher re­turn on equity and 34 per cent higher re­turn to share­hold­ers.” To book a place email michelle.craig@al­ All are wel­come.
