The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Your Views -

The owners of land in Glinton have been told they can’t live on it because they don’t have planning permission. City council leader John Holdich admits the authority is being made to look foolish as the family has been there since 2013. The owner has applied for permission to create a travellers’ site on the land. Ultimately, people have the right to buy land and set up home but only within the confines of the law. It’s becoming a major issue that it takes so long - many years in some cases - to resolve disputes like this. A speedier solution and enforcement would allow everyone to know where they stand and get on with their lives.
