Mayor to host afternoon tea

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - News -

The Mayor of Peterborough will hold a number of afternoon teas to aid his charities.

The first will be held on Thursday, August 18 from 1 to 3 pm at the Town Hall in Bridge Street. There will be a small entrance charge, refreshments, a raffle, bric-a-brac stalls and the opportunity for a spot of dancing.

To help raise money for the mayor’s charities you can also donate books, bric-a-brac items or even bake a cake for the home produce stall.

The charities are the Salvation Army Good Neighbours Scheme, the Royal Air Force Association and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Councillor David Sanders, the Mayor of Peterborough, said: “I’d be very grateful to anyone able to donate items for the stalls. With the new series of the Great British Bake Off just a few weeks away some freshly baked cakes would go very well with a cup of tea.”

Afternoon teas will also be held on October 20 and November 17 at the Town Hall.
