Green Flag hoisted at park

A Green Flag was raised at Vic­to­ria Gar­dens to cel­e­brate its achieve­ment in be­ing recog­nised as one of the best parks in the coun­try. Coun­cil­lors for Park Ward, mem­bers of the Vic­to­ria Park Res­i­dents’ As­so­ci­a­tion, head of street­care at Amey, Chris Jack­son, and Coun­cil­lor Gavin Elsey, cabi­net mem­ber for dig­i­tal, waste and street scene at Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil, were there on Tues­day to raise the flag. Cen­tral Park, It­ter Park and Manor Farm Park have also re­ceived Green Flags. The award, now in its 20th year, recog­nises the best parks and green spa­ces across the coun­try. The city’s Cen­tral Park has now achieved Green Flag sta­tus in 14 con­sec­u­tive years while It­ter Park has re­ceived it 10 times.
