Mem­ber of the pub­lic finds body in wA­ter

The body of a pen­sioner was dis­cov­ered by a mem­ber of the pub­lic in Or­ton Mere. The body was dis­cov­ered on Thurs­day last week.

The man has been iden­ti­fied as 71-year-old Ray­mond Knott.

No known ad­dress has yet been given for him.

A Cam­bridgeshire po­lice spokesman said: “We were called to Or­ton Mere at about 11.30am fol­low­ing re­ports of a body be­ing dis­cov­ered.”

Of­fi­cer­swere­seen­re­cov­er­ing the body from the wa­ter.

The­p­o­lice­spokesman­said the death was not be­ing treated as sus­pi­cious.

The case was handed over to the coroner and an in­quest opened yes­ter­day at 11am at LawrenceCourt, Hunt­ing­don.

As­sis­tant coro­ner­forCam­bridgeshire and Peter­bor­ough, Belin­daCheney, opened the in­quest then ad­journed it un­til Jan­uary 19, 2017.
