Peterborough-based holiday giant Thomas Cook is about to throw open the doors to its new home in the city. The travel operator, which employs 1,200 people in Peterborough, is relocating from Bretton to Westpoint House in Lynch Wood, on Monday. (August 22) Chris Mottershead, managing director, said: “Thomas Cook has been a leading employer in Peterborough for 43 years, and we are here for the long term. “We are very proud of our new premises and we are confident that it will bring a marked improvement to the comfort and team spirit of our current and future employees. “We will continue to offer our customers great holidays for decades to come.” The move comes as the company celebrates its 175th anniversary. Prior to the current relocation, Thomas Cook was based at its Coningsby Road site in Bretton for 20 years, which it owns. The company continues to review options for the premises. The new base will be leased from landlord Westmount Real Estate and the move is a significant investment in the future of Thomas Cook in Peterborough.
