Chap­man is quick to make an im­pres­sion

Sun­day’s open match at De­coy Lakes saw an­glers lin­ing up on the Elm Pool, oneof the best lakes on­the venue right now and that was re­flected in the very big weights taken.

New­comer to the fish­ery Richard Chap­man took the hon­ours with a fine 217lb 3oz taken on worm and caster from peg 18.

The came Andy King with 173lb 9oz and Ben Townsend on 157lb 10oz.

OVER 55s

The Over 55 s match on Fri­day at De­coy saw an­glers spread across two lakes with Six Is­land and Four Is­lands be­ing used.

Paste ex­pert Alan Wig­gins took a com­fort­able vic­tory on Six Is­lands. He fished his favourite bait close in on peg 22 to fin­ish with 134lb 12oz.

Stan Dow took the run­ner-up spot with 115l b 9oz.

Over on Four Is­lands Danny Carl­ton was another an­gler on the pellet and paste ap­proach. He topped the lake with 97lb 4oz, fol­lowed by Gus Gaus­den on 89lb 1oz.


Weights were not so good at Had­don Lodge on Sun­day. Out in front with a mod­est 23lb 13oz was Martin Har­wood, who caught on soft pellet up in the wa­ter.

Run­ner-up with 23lb 10oz was Lu­cio Melillo then came Tony Moulds with 20lb 14oz.
