Wrong decisions cost Posh dearly

-

Posh boss Grant McCann was so frustrated by the end of this League One match at the Kassam Stadium on Sat- urday.

After putting five past Millwall in midweek he had high hopes his unchanged team would record another big win as Oxford blooded twonewfull-backsandaleftbackplaying as a centre-half.

Instead, it was his own defence which failed i ts test. Halfway through four minutes of stoppage time, Ryan Taylor flicked the ball over the Posh defence and through to Chris Maguire whowasbundledoverinside the area by Jack Baldwin.

The defender was shown a secondyellow card, andthe forward got up to place the spot-kick out of the reach of BenAlnwickdivingtohisleft.

That made it two defeats in sucessive Saturdays for Poshbuttheyonlyhadthemselves to blame.

Posh had more t han enough chances to claim all three points after falling behindtoaWesThomasgoalon 42 minutes.

Tom Nichols equalised in the 62nd minute to set up a frantic finale during which Posh were guilty of poor decision-making.

They twice squandered good chances to take the points when substitute Adil Nabi turned into a defender when he should have shot, while Gwion Edwards wildly fired a cross over with Nabi in space.
