A1 delays expected for horse trials

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the A1 at Stamford this weekend while the Burghley Horse Trials are taking place.

The event starts today (Thursday), and will finish on Sunday.

The A1 exit slip roads in either or both directions at Stamford may need to be closed if traffic flows reach a peak. The closures would happen at any time between 7am and 12 noon, and 2pm and8pm. Duringtheclosures, northboundtrafficwishingto exit the A1 at Stamford would be diverted via the A606 and A6121. Southbound traffic wouldbedivertedviaBarnack Drift and the B1443.
