Raising a glass to another successful year of plenty of beer!
Around 30,000 people rocked up to this year’s Peterborough Beer Festival for five days of sunshine, beer and a ‘splash’ of rain. Nicknamed the ‘godfather of CAMRA festivals’ - this year’s event proved just that, entertaining the masses day after day with more than 400 real ales, ciders, perries, wines and bottled beers. Young, old and four-legged friends joined in the party, which took place from Tuesday through to Saturday at Peterborough Embankement. With a full programme of entertainment throughout the festival, including the likes of One Eyed Cats and Palmerston Arms Ukulele Band, there really was something for everyone. Karl Simpson, from Peterborough CAMRA said: “It was another really great year. We had around 10,000 through the door on Friday alone!” Next year’s festival (40th) will take place August 22 to 26.
