Posh were set to bolster their League One play-off push by making three new loan signings on transfer deadline day.

Posh were expected to complete the transfer of goalkeeper Luke McGee and winger Nathan Oduwa from Spurs to accompany the confirmed arrival of Barnsley midfielder George Moncur.

Posh also let striker Joe Gormley join Scottish Premier Division side St Johnstone with goalkeeper Ben Alnwick expected to follow him out of the door to League One promotion favourites Bolton.

Posh also picked up a compensation fee for left-back Kgosi Nthle after he joined League Two strugglers Stevenage. Ntlhe was released by Posh at the end of last season.

Moncur moved to Posh from Barnsley on loan just two months after choosing to join the Tykes ahead of Grant Mc- Cann’s men from Colchester for £500k.

Oduwa (20) has played for Nigeria Under 23s and has played for Rangers, Luton and Colchester on loan.

He has yet to make a firstteam appearance for Spurs
