Posh were set to bol­ster their League One play-off push by mak­ing three new loan sign­ings on trans­fer dead­line day.

Posh were ex­pected to com­plete the trans­fer of goal­keeper Luke McGee and winger Nathan Oduwa from Spurs to ac­com­pany the con­firmed ar­rival of Barns­ley mid­fielder Ge­orge Mon­cur.

Posh also let striker Joe Gorm­ley join Scot­tish Pre­mier Di­vi­sion side St John­stone with goal­keeper Ben Al­nwick ex­pected to fol­low him out of the door to League One pro­mo­tion favourites Bolton.

Posh also picked up a com­pen­sa­tion fee for left-back Kgosi Nthle af­ter he joined League Two strug­glers Steve­nage. Ntlhe was re­leased by Posh at the end of last sea­son.

Mon­cur moved to Posh from Barns­ley on loan just two months af­ter choos­ing to join the Tykes ahead of Grant Mc- Cann’s men from Colch­ester for £500k.

Oduwa (20) has played for Nige­ria Un­der 23s and has played for Rangers, Lu­ton and Colch­ester on loan.

He has yet to make a first­team ap­pear­ance for Spurs
