Historian to open new centre

Historian andbroadcaster Dr David Starkey will officially open the cathedral’s new Visitor and Learning Centre.
Dr Starkey will open the new centre on Saturday, September 10 at 2pm.
Re-enactorsdressedasmedieval knights will provide a guardofhonourforDrStarkey as he cuts a ribbon across the entrance to the new Centre.
The opening of the centre is the culmination of two years’ workinconserving and converting two listed buildings in the Precincts.
Following the opening ceremony, Dr Starkey will be available to sign copies of his booksatthecentre. Therewill be a bookstall in association with Waterstones.
Thecentrewillbeopendaily from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays. There is no chargeforentrybutdonations are encouraged to help with cathedral running costs.
