The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Special Report -

The Alzheimer’s Society arranged a special ‘thank you’ event for Malcolm at Northumberland’s historic Hexham Abbey on Thursday, September 1. The charity’s chief executive Jeremy Hughes, whowas at the event, said: “Malcolm’s generous gift is one of the largest donations the society has ever received from a supporter. “It will not only make a vital contribution towards advancing care and research for people living with dementia, but will help to reach out to and inspire others to support our fight against this devastating condition. “Thanks to his backing wewill be able to ensure more people are aware of dementia and the support they can get.” The donation will support vital work at two Doctoral Training Centres in Bradford and Southampton, among eight such centres of excellence set up by the charity last year to address an urgent need for research into the diagnosis, care and treatment of the condition.
