Yaxley and Hampton hit the county cup trail with a bang

There were massive wins for two Peterborou­gh Junior Alliance League sides in county cup action on Sunday. Bothcamein­thefirstro­undof the Hunts Under 14 Cup with Yaxley Blue smashing Parkside Athletic by a staggering 27-0 margin and Hampton Blue cruising to an 11-0 triumph against Park Farm Pumas Red.

Two players - Marcus Goymour and Kyall Woods - managed five-goal hauls for Yaxley with Joshua Hogg and Alfie Webb claiming four apiece and Kyle Rowell and Jamie Lane firing hat-tricks.

Completing the rout were Louis Whiffin (2) and Finley Kilby.

For Hampton it was Rio Henson leading the way on the scoresheet with five, Luke Scampion hit three and Harry McLaughlin, Joshua Gore and Reece Campbell chipped in with one each.

On the Under 14 league front there was a cracking 13-goal thriller involving netherton Pheonix and Deeping Rangers Claret. Netherton trailed 5-1 at half-time but stormed back in the second half to win 7-6 with goals by Emmanuel Ochube (4) and Daniel Laxton (3). Scorers for Deeping were Joshua Raven (3), Jack Sharpe (2) and Oskar Storti.

Under 12 Division Four leaders Blackstone­s walloped Parkside Athletic 11-0 with Malik Karama scoring four. Sunday was KO Cup day for Peterborou­gh Youth League sides and as usual the first round matches produced a stack of goals.

March Soccer School Under 15s led the way with ascorching­21-0winatRipp­ingale and Folkingham. Adam Brady tucked away four of the goals withBlake Cowley and Jordan Smith notching trebles.

Next best were GunthorpeH­arriersNav­y - 13-1 winnersove­rRiverside - followed by Blackstone­s - 12-0 winners at Crowland.

Remarkably only four Gunthorpe players made it onto the scoresheet as Zac Findley smashed a magnificen­t seven and Ryan Bishop scored four. Subs Callum Dalliday and Kacper Kozak got the other two. For Blackstone­s, Jamie Pumpr, Solomon Walker and Kai Wood blasted hat-tricks.

In the Under 18 competitio­n, Scott Waumsley hit five for Deeping Blue in their 9-1 win against Netherton Bluejays, and Solomon Walker and Philip Joyce scored hat- tricks for Wisbech Acorns in a 7-2 win over Bourne Blue.
