Darius will be back to his best soon
Goal drought
Lithuanian international ace Darius Pliskauskas is being backed to re-discover his top form.
The veteran forward has contributed only one goal and oneassist in Phantoms’ opening six games of the new English Premier League season.
Coach Slava Koulikov said: “The team is about 18 to 20 guys, not just one. It is very difficult for any player to be at their best for a full 54-game season.
“Unfortunately Darius has not had the best of starts, but he works hard and gives everything for the team.
“I always trust my players and you will not find a more honest guy than Darius.
“He approached me to talk about his form because he knows it has quite been right, and we’ve had conversations.
“But we are that kind of team that sticks together and supports anyone who is having a tough time. And we can be pretty sure that someone with the quality of Darius will be at his best again soon.”
Pliskauskas, who celebrates his 36th birthday today (Thursday), has racked up good numbers in his two full seasons in Phantomscolours.
He was responsible for 32 goals and 33 assists last term afterpiling up52points in the play-off winning campaign of 2014/15. He also managed 32 points after arriving midway through the 2013/14 season from Slough.
