Another Brill performanc­e by young Flo

Nene Valley Harriers’ up and coming distance runner F lo B rill took over three seconds off her 800m personal best (PB) at the Biggleswad­e Open meeting on Saturday( writes Barry Warne).

Finishing third behind a pair of senior athletes, Brill ran a time of 2:21.42 which moved her into fifth place in the national Under 13 rankings. The young star is ranked fourth over 1500m.

Katie Tasker finished fourth in her 1500m race in 5:24.94, which was just outside the 13-year-old-club record. Rosie Fresen was runner-up in the pole vault with a 2.85m clearance.

Teenage Harrier Isaac Huskisson won the Under 20 shot, discus and hammer, as well as finishing javelin runner-up, while Donovan Capes took the Under 13 shot honours.

It was a good day for the club’s senior throwers with Simon Achurch winning the senior discus and shot and hammer and Tim Needham claiming first place in the Over 60 shot.

Eye Community Runner Ben Her on flew to victory in Sunday’ s West Pinchbeck 10k in a time of 34.10. Stamford trio Mark Popple, Cameron Harris and Andrew Shackleton finished sixth, seventhand eighth.
