An­other Brill per­for­mance by young Flo

Nene Val­ley Har­ri­ers’ up and com­ing dis­tance run­ner F lo B rill took over three sec­onds off her 800m per­sonal best (PB) at the Big­gleswade Open meet­ing on Saturday( writes Barry Warne).

Fin­ish­ing third be­hind a pair of se­nior ath­letes, Brill ran a time of 2:21.42 which moved her into fifth place in the na­tional Un­der 13 rank­ings. The young star is ranked fourth over 1500m.

Katie Tasker fin­ished fourth in her 1500m race in 5:24.94, which was just out­side the 13-year-old-club record. Rosie Fre­sen was run­ner-up in the pole vault with a 2.85m clear­ance.

Teenage Har­rier Isaac Huskisson won the Un­der 20 shot, dis­cus and ham­mer, as well as fin­ish­ing javelin run­ner-up, while Dono­van Capes took the Un­der 13 shot hon­ours.

It was a good day for the club’s se­nior throw­ers with Si­mon Achurch win­ning the se­nior dis­cus and shot and ham­mer and Tim Need­ham claim­ing first place in the Over 60 shot.

Eye Com­mu­nity Run­ner Ben Her on flew to vic­tory in Sun­day’ s West Pinch­beck 10k in a time of 34.10. Stam­ford trio Mark Pop­ple, Cameron Harris and An­drew Shack­le­ton fin­ished sixth, sev­en­t­hand eighth.
