Key UKIP figure in the city is suspended

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - News -

The deputy chairman of UKIP’s Peterborough branch says he has been suspended for “speaking out against elements of racism, crony ism, corruption and hypocrisy in our party .”

Jay Beecher also coordinated the Vote Leave campaign in the city during the recent EU referendum and was campaign manager for Ramsey councillor Lisa Duffy in the recent UKIP leadership election.

AU K IP spokesman said “talented” Mr Beecher was suspended for “repeatedly making deliberate and demonstratively false allegations” against UKIP members.” He added: “It is a shame he uses his time to attack people in his party rather than to build up support as we move forward to the Cambridgeshire County Council elections.”
