The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - The Listings -

Peterborough Revellers are back at their familiar stomping ground, the Peterborough Indoor Bowls Club in Burton Street with a brand new comedy PHOENIX TOURS written by local playwrights Clive and Sue Read. It is about a bus trip into the desolate Welsh sheep rearing countryside. The trip turns into a disaster when the bus breaks down and accidentally catches fire. A group of the trippers manage to escape with their luggage to shelter in a dilapidated barn as a thunderstorm breaks out. They are accosted by a maniacal shepherd who orders them to get off his land. This leads to hilarious circumstances which end with the trippers having to accept his outrageous offers to get them back to civilisation or to spend the night in the open with a flock of sheep as bedmates. PHOENIX TOURS opened last night and runs until Saturday and tickets cost £12.50 which includes a fish and chip supper in the interval. Phone 01778 349534.
