Se­ries of crashes leave driv­ers hurt and roads closed

A se­ries of crashes left a num­ber of roads closed in and around Peterborough.

The crashes af­fected the Flet­ton Parkway, Pas­ton Parkway and the A47 at Thor­ney.

While only one per­son suf­fered se­ri­ous in­juries, there was dis­rup­tion across the road net­work.

The­firstcrash­hap­pened on the Flet­ton parkway be­tween Or­ton Gold­hay and the A1 junc­tion at 12.20am.

A woman in her 20s suf­fered se­ri­ous leg in­juries, and was taken to Peterborough City Hospi­tal by the Mag­pas rapid re­sponse ve­hi­cle. A man, in his 50s, suf­fered mi­nor in­juries. The road was closed un­til 2am as a re­sult of the crash.

The next in­ci­dent in­volved four ve­hi­cles, and hap­pened on the Pas­ton Parkway be­tween Wer- ri ngton and Glin­ton at 1 0.30am. The road was closed be­tween the McDon­alds round­about and the Wer­ring­ton cen­tre. An am­bu­lance­spokesman­saidtwo peo­ple had suf­fered mi­nor in­juries in the crash.

And two peo­ple were in­jured in a crash on the A47, which also in­volved four ve­hi­cles. The crash hap­pened at 11am be­tween Thor­ney and Guy­hirn.
