Political debate in city
Political heavyweights were in Peterborough for the filming of the BBC’s flagship debate show Question Time. The BBC1 show last Thursday was filmed at the Kingsgate Church in the city, with the episode broadcast at 10.45pm that night. Conservative Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling, Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornber- ry and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Home Affairs Alistair Carmichael were joined by newspaper columnist and TV presenter Piers Morgan and novelist Lionel Shriver on the panel. A packed audience was on hand to hear the panel, chaired by David Dimbleby, discuss topics including Brexit, the new US president Donald Trump, and social care.
