Po­lit­i­cal heavyweights were in Peterborough for the film­ing of the BBC’s flag­ship de­bate show Ques­tion Time. The BBC1 show last Thurs­day was filmed at the Kings­gate Church in the city, with the episode broad­cast at 10.45pm that night. Con­ser­va­tive Sec­re­tary of State for Trans­port Chris Grayling, Labour’s Shadow For­eign Sec­re­tary Emily Thorn­ber- ry and Lib­eral Demo­crat Spokesper­son for Home Af­fairs Alis­tair Carmichael were joined by news­pa­per colum­nist and TV pre­sen­ter Piers Mor­gan and nov­el­ist Lionel Shriver on the panel. A packed au­di­ence was on hand to hear the panel, chaired by David Dim­bleby, dis­cuss top­ics in­clud­ing Brexit, the new US pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, and so­cial care.
