Plenty of new music at top city club
Popular city venue The Met Lounge have announced a number of live shows from new and emerging bands to kick off the new year.
Kicking things off on Saturday 28th January are synthwaveduoLeBrock. Theduo’s debut EP ‘Action & Romance’ was voted best EP of 2016 by Swedish Rocknytt.net magazine.
On Saturday 11th February the club will play host to Airways who were signed to a major agency last year and graced both the Reading and Leeds Festival stage.
Other bands and performers include The Extons, from Kings Lynn, and Peterborough’s very own singer-songwriter DanPoole. MetLounge owner and promoter Steve Jason described Dan as “Peterborough’s Jake Bugg - ‘extremelytalentedandwithabit of luck could break through’
However, i t s not only live shows to be seen at The Met Lounge. On Wednesday nights the popular club holds an ‘open mic’ night which has become very popular. Steve added: “It’s taken a long time to establish but it’s now attracting a regular core crowd of bothmusicianswhowantto play, and people who want to come along, happy to listen to local artistes, try out new and old stuffintheir15minuteslot on stage.”
