The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - NEWS -

Flowers of remembrance have been left in tribute to a motorcyclist who died last week after a fatal collision.

Kevin Goodchild (60), who lived in Dogsthorpe, was riding his grey Piaggio motorcycle in Gunthorpe Road at about 3.40pm last Friday when for unknown reasons the motorcycle left the carriageway and collided with a bus shelter.

No other vehicle was involved in the collision.

Police, the East of England Ambulance Service and the Magpas air ambulance all attended the incident, however, sadly Kevin’s injuries proved fatal.

His next of kin has been informed.

Following the collision, flowers were left by the bus shelter, and a message in a bouquet read: “RIP Kevin from all the family.”

A spokesman for The East of England Ambulance Service said on Friday: “An ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer and Magpas air ambulance were dispatched.

“They treated a man who was not breathing and in cardiac arrest.

“Following treatment at the scene he was resuscitated and taken by land ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital in a critical condition.”

Gunthorpe Road was closed for around three hours last Friday to allow the emergency services to work at the scene.

The road was then reopened at approximately 6.40pm.
