Sum­mer ac­tiv­i­ties con­tinue at Ferry Meadows this week with Camp­fire Cook­ing for Kids on Satur­day. Have a go at cook­ing and eat­ing some sim­ple camp­fire recipes - 10.30 – 13.30 and 12.00 – 15.00. Meet at the Lake­side Car Park and the cost is £3 per child. The fol­low­ing day is Scav­eng­ing

Sticks and Leaf Pound­ing. Take a wood­land walk, find a special scav­eng­ing stick and dec­o­rate it with na­ture’s de­lights, while learn­ing about trees and their pro­duce. Fin­ish­ing off with some leaf pound­ing, which is great for large mo­tor skills and learn­ing about why leaves are green. Times: 10.30 – 13.30 and 12.00 – 15.00 and suit­able for five year olds. On Mon­day test your origami skills to make a se­lec­tion of pa­per planes, then en­ter your best into the fly­ing com­pe­ti­tions. Whose will fly for the long­est, fly fur­thest or high­est?
