Over 400 fans to watch Bourne and Wis­bech

Bourne at­tracted the big­gest crowd of the lo­cal ‘ground-hop’ week­end as 459 turned up at the Abbey Lawns to watch Raunds win 2-1 in a United Coun­ties Di­vi­sion One match last Friday night.

Wis­bech also at­tracted a gate in ex­cess of 400 for their 2-1 UCL Pre­mier Di­vi­sion win over Welling­bor­ough Town at the Fen­land Sta­dium on Sun­day after­noon. Alex Beck and debu­tant Josh Ford scored their goals be­fore Jon Fair­weather was sent off in the 90th minute.

Hol­beach opened their Pre­mier Di­vi­sion cam­paign with a 6-0 wal­lop­ping of a weak Sleaford Town side.

New sign­ing Will Bird struck twice, but the Tigers’ city-based man­ager Seb Hayes felt they should have scored a dozen goals.

Andy Lodge’s first full sea­son as Black­stones boss be­gins on Satur­day. Stones travel to peren­nial strug­glers Bur­ton Park Wan­der­ers in UCL Di­vi­sion One.
