Shock defeat fo city side on opening day
There was an opening day shock for Peterborough Premier Division title fancies ICA Sports.
ICA travelled to Leverington Sports for a ‘ground-hop’ fixture Sunday and delivered a disappointing display as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat in front of a crowd of 302.
Ryan Alexander and substitute Ivaylo Raychev scored the second-half goals for the home side.
There were no such problems for regular title challengers Moulton Harrox who beat newlypromoted Sutton Bridge United 3-0.
Marcus Parry, Matthew Watkin and Dan Woods scored for Harrox. This match drew a crowd of 280.
The Division One match between Long Sutton Athletic and Tydd St Mary was abandoned after home player Glen Wells suffered a serious injury.
Wisbech Town Reserves have pulled out of the Premier Division.
New manager Simon Flanz quit two months after taking the job on, citing a lack of commitment from players.
