THIS WILL BE POSH’S YEAR
The main men at Posh are united in their belief that 201718 can be a promotion season for the club.
Chairman Darragh MacAnthony and manager Grant McCann are both full of confidenceastheLeagueOneopener against Plymouth at the ABAX Stadium approaches.
Both have delivered lengthy interviews to the Peterborough Telegraph for this newspaper’s annual pre-season supplement.
MacAnthony, whose targets for the season include the League One title and 110 goals, said: “I’m excited about our forward line, our style of play and by the potential of our young manager.
“We have had to be clever with our budget, but we have recruited well. I am confident everyone will step up and perform.
“I predict we will be there or thereabouts at Christmas, but then we will kick on and finish the season strongly.”
And McCann has matched his chairman’s ambition.
“We have a great chance this season,” he said. “I have great confidence in this squad.
“It’s a totally different dressing room to last season. We have as much ability, but we also have stronger characters. “We want to hit the ground running, but this season I expect us to last the pace.”
