Molly dancers look for new input

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - YOUR NEWS -

A dance group keeping the Fenland tradition of Molly dancing alive is looking for new blood.

Pig Dyke Molly perform both at local events and at national festivals, and have performed in France, Ireland and the USA.

The music they use was mostly written by a previous musician, now sadly dead, who created an exciting blend of 1970s soft rock and folk music.

As they prepare for the Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival in January, and other events next year they are looking to work with a new musician to try something new.

“We need someone who is capable of playing as lead musician, when needed, and who can develop the confidence to create superb music to be part of exciting performances. There is no pay but you would be joining a great friendly group and have free tickets at some great festivals, said member Tony Forster.
