Who’d be a patient?

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - YOUR VIEWS -

We all know the pressure A&E departments are under and at Peterborough City Hospital it is no exception. In its annual report it was revealed that the department failed by some distance to hit its target of seeing 95 per cent of patients within four hours. A lot of patients had to be very patient.

One of the reasons was an increase in patients from Lincolnshire after a reduction of opening hours at Grantham hospital’s A&E. Did hospital bosses in Grantham think patients needing hospital treatment would just stay at home and have a cup of tea? It was an accident waiting to happen.
