DICTE: CRIME REPORTER SEASON 2 Acorn, cert 18 DVD 2-disc set £24.99 DENMARK’s smartest investigative journalist brings home the bacon with another sexy mix of crime and passion that enjoyed a second successful season here on More4. In fact Dicte has become such a hit for the country that brought us the The Killing and Borgen that a third series is being filmed. If other reporters wonder how Dicte (Iben Hjejle – pictured) gets all the hottest scoops, her close relationship with detective John Wagner (Lars Brygmann), who seems unable to crack cases without her atomic blonde contribution, provides a clue. Not that Wagner’s in the romantic frame, Dicte’s passionate affair with photographer Bo Skytte (Dar Salim) is positively blazing. But, problems with her rebellious daughter Rose tend to get in the way and more family difficulties emerge when her estranged father arranges a meeting because he has important information for her. But he ends up in a coma following a hit-and-run accident. Why he tried to build bridges haunts Dicte as he fights for life through much of the series. Meanwhile, there are crimes to be cracked and cases involve diamond smuggling, a missing child, and match fixing in football. Dicte’s fans will be delighted.
