Lorry fire causes long A1 delays
There were miles of queues for drivers on the A1 after a lorry carrying pasta sauce caught fire.
Part of the A1 near Stamford was closed on Tuesday afternoon causing eight miles of stationary tailbacks. Drivers were taken on a long diversion route to avoid the closure.
Along with the burnt out remains of the truck, much if its load had spilt on to the carriageway - including both sauce and broken glass jars.
The road was blocked for several hours before it was eventually re-opened at about 7.15pm.
