More pupils have passed English and maths at Jack Hunt School this year than last year. Head­teacher Pamela Kil­bey said: “We are ab­so­lutely de­lighted with the results achieved by our stu­dents this year.

“De­spite the much tougher ex­am­i­na­tions in English and math­e­mat­ics we have in­creased our English and math­e­mat­ics com­bined per­cent­age to achieve a fig­ure of 58 per cent.

“We are es­pe­cially proud of the way our stu­dents have re­sponded to the in­creased chal­lenges they faced this year.”

Top pupils in­cluded: Katie Prange with six A*s, two 9s and one 8, Wing Hei Hung with five A*s, two As, one 9, one 8 and one 7, and Francine Kelly with four A*s , two As, one 9 and two 8s .

In ad­di­tion, Ellie Pic­caver achieved four A*s, two

As, one 8, one 7 and one 6, Char­lotte Wil­liams achieved three A*s, three As and three 8s, and Tayyab Sub­haan achieved three A*s, four As and three 7s.
