Pupils win world ge­og­ra­phy quiz

On Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 12, five year nine ge­og­ra­phers from Oun­dle School took part in the lo­cal round of the Ge­o­graph­i­cal As­so­ci­a­tion’s World­wise Quiz .

The quiz tested their knowl­edge of both Hu­man and Phys­i­cal Ge­og­ra­phy as well as gen­eral ‘place’ knowl­edge. Oun­dle en­tered two teams and were com­pet­ing against four other lo­cal schools in the South Lin­colnshire round – Stam­ford School, Stam­ford High School, Stam­ford Wel­land Academy and Up­ping­ham School. Robert Bret­tle,Mar­cus McDe­vitt and Alexan­der Jones, all aged 13, took the top place po­si­tion. Head of Ge­og­ra­phy, Mor­wenna Chap­man said: “Our pupils com­peted en­thu­si­as­ti­cally and were pleased to re­ceive their prizes of a large Collins At­las at the end of the evening.”
