Pupils and staff of South View School, Crowland, took great pleasure in welcoming the Bishop of Lincoln, the Right Reverand Christopher Lowsen, his Chaplain Reverend Jayson Rhodes and the Reverend Charles Brown of Crowland, back to their school.

After a successful visit from Bishop Christopher in December 2017, the children were keen to show him how they have progressed over the year, as well as celebrating the launch of the new Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education at South View Primary School.

Six student representatives from across both key stages, with the school’s RE coordinator, Miss Hannah Brunt, escorted Bishop Christopher and Reverends Jayson and Charles into each class. In Years 1, 2 and 6, the children were following the ‘Understanding Christianity’ programme and had been asking questions along the lines of “Who is God?” and “What form, or forms, do we represent God as?”

In Years 3, 4 and 5, the children had, the previous week, experienced Indian Culture workshop days with Sunita Patel of the Indian Experience, as part of this term’s topic about Hinduism. The children were able to share their experiences of the day. Bishop Christopher also had a glimpse of Years 2 and 5 preparing for the Harvest Festival at the end of term.
