Po­lice ap­peal to catch mug­ger

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a man was mugged in the cen­tre of Aberdeen.

The 26-year-old vic­tim was at­tacked and robbed of his be­long­ings on Union Street near to its junc­tion with Di­a­mond Street.

The man was punched and kicked dur­ing the in­ci­dent, which hap­pened at around 4.20am on Fri­day.

The at­tacker is de­scribed as be­ing white, aged in his 20s or 30s, of stocky build and with dark blond short hair which was shaved at the sides.

He was wear­ing a black Su­perdry jacket with green writ­ing on it, grey trousers and black and white train­ers.

De­tec­tive In­spec­tor, David Howieson, said: “The vic­tim was taken to Aberdeen Royal In­fir­mary for treat­ment and thank­fully has not been se­ri­ously in­jured.”
