William has a beef over own steak cooking skills
The Duke of Cambridge revealed that his culinary skills leave a lot to be desired, as he judged a charity cook-off to help tackle youth homelessness.
The duke was in attendance at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in central London for the launch of a new campaign with homelessness charity, LandAid.
William helped judge a cooking challenge between RICS chief executive Sean Tompkins and his LandAid counterpart, Paul Morrish. But William was left hungry when he discovered that fish was on the menu, instead of his desired cake.
Asked if he liked cooking, the duke replied: “I do, but I’m not very good. And someone told me this was a bake-off, not a mackerel-off. I was expecting to get some chocolate cake.”
William said his signature dishes included steak, but admitted he was nervous about over-cooking the latter past his preferred medium-rare.
