Fe­male own­er­ship of cars rises 21%

Fe­male car own­er­ship has grown by more than a fifth in the past decade.

Some 11.8mil­lion UK cars were owned by women last year, up 21% since 2007. This is com­pared with an in­crease of just 10% for men over the same pe­riod, reach­ing 17.8mil­lion in 2017.

The anal­y­sis also re­vealed that the pro­por­tion of mo­torists driv­ing au­to­matic cars has dou­bled since 2007.
