Caley This­tle: At­tacker ready to prove Robert­son right to keep faith in him

Caley This­tle for­ward Con­nor Bell is all the more de­ter­mined to an­swer the doubts aimed at the In­ver­ness squad by man­ager John Robert­son.

Robert­son ques­tioned whether his play­ers were pre­pared to put their bod­ies on the line in the wake of last Satur­day’s 2-1 de­feat by Dum­bar­ton, which was their fifth de­feat from their open­ing seven Cham­pi­onship games.

English at­tacker Bell was one of 13 new ad­di­tions over the sum­mer, fol­low- Mo Mar­ley has been ap­pointed in­terim head coach of Eng­land Women. She takes over from Mark Samp­son, who was sacked by the FA on Septem­ber 20. The UK Gov­ern­ment has agreed to back Birm­ing­ham’s bid for the 2022 Com­mon­wealth Games and guar­an­tee costs that could to­tal £750mil­lion. Birm­ing­ham City Coun­cil will have to fund a quar­ter of that but the rest of the bud­get will be pro­vided by cen­tral gov­ern­ment.
