County get back to business

Staggies: Attacker Mckay glad new manager Coyle was installed so quickly

The Press and Journal (Aberdeen) - - SPORT -

Ross County forward Billy Mckay says the swift appointment of Owen Coyle as manager has allowed the Staggies to get down to business ahead of today’s Premiership trip to Kilmarnock.

Staggies chairman Roy MacGregor took the decision to sack Jim McIntyre in the wake of last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by Hibernian, which was County’s fifth loss in their last six league games.

MacGregor acted quickly by appointing Coyle, most Glasgow golfer Conor O’Neil advanced to stage two of the European Tour qualifying school at Hardelot, France, but Wallace Booth (Pitlochry Golf ) missed the 54-hole cut.

O’Neil carded rounds of 73, 68, 69 and 67 for a sevenunder-par total of 277 – 11 shots behind the winner, Frenchman Antoine Rozner.

Booth missed the cut on 225.
