Turriff flies north flag
Turriff international Carol Stewart will be the north’s representative at the Taylor Bowls Scottish women’s national singles championship semi-finals at West Lothian in January after progressing from the playdowns at Auchinleck.
Stewart was in top form only dropping 10 shots over her opening two matches, firstly against Ardrossan’s Rachael Kennedy and then Glasgow’s Chris Holland before her 21-20 quarter-final win against Natalie Docherty (Whiteinch). Stewart’s semi-final opponent in January will be Auchinleck’s Claire Johnston.
Caroline Brown, from Blantyre, will meet West Lothian’s Lisa Barrett in the other semi-final.
