Event to focus on inshore fisheries issues
Scotland’s inshore fisheries are under the spotlight at a conference today and tomorrow.
The two-day event at Eden Court features meetings, discussions and networking opportunities for delegates from across the country’s inshore fishing industry and the organisations which manage, regulate and advise it.
Conference activities get under way today with a session on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund-supported Scottish Inshore Fisheries Integrated Data System project, which aims to support data collection efforts and reduce the reporting burden on fishers.
Tomorrow’s programme includes breakout discussions and plenaries, where delegates can question speakers and chip in with their own observations. Fisheries Secretary Fergus Ewing will present on his own thoughts about the sector and its successes and challenges.
