Senga wins in Chantilly

Rhododendron was pulled up and Shutter Speed faded late on as Senga claimed victory in a rough renewal of the Prix de Diane at Chantilly yesterday.

The Aidan O’Brientrained Rhododendron was having her third tilt at Classic glory after she finished second in both the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Oaks at Epsom. She appeared well positioned at the halfway stage but Ryan Moore pulled her up quickly and dismounted before the home turn and she was reportedly bleeding from the nose.
