Par­ents empty pen­sion pots

One in five par­ents with adult chil­dren have used cash orig­i­nally in­tended for their pen­sion to help their off­spring, a sur­vey has found.

Some 19% of those sur­veyed for Pru­den­tial had taken money out of their pen­sion fund or sac­ri­ficed sav­ing for their re­tire­ment to help their chil­dren fi­nan­cially.

Ox­ford Street crash death

A 73-year-old pedes­trian has died af­ter col­lid­ing with a cy­clist in Lon­don’s Ox­ford Street.

The el­derly woman suf­fered a head in­jury in the crash on Tues­day at 4.30pm. She was taken to hospi­tal but died.

The cy­clist stopped at the scene. Po­lice said no ar­rests have been made.
