Delays over infrastructure

SIR, – I completely agree with Derek Logan, (Press and Journal letters, July 21) regarding road congestion.

Had this infrastructure been put in place as soon as oil was discovered in the North Sea, we in the north-east would not have had to live with the years of frustration caused by the Westminster Government of the time.

The AWPR would have been completed years ago, but for the costly protest against it.
