McAllister’s swinging his way to glory

-

Deeside six-handicap golfer Trevor McAllister won the North-east District senior championship at Craibstone Golf Club yesterday – and said he owed it all to Paul Lawrie’s swing coach, Andrew Locke.

“I had not driven the ball well for ages, so I went to see Andrew last week. He adjusted my address position and I’ve started hitting fairways again, which makes a big difference,” said Trevor, who was making his debut in the tournament, having reached the seniors’ qualifying age of 55.

McAllister, originally from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, had four birdies in a two-under-par 67, winning by two shots from former Aberdeen Links champion Barry Brooks (Meldrum House).
