A 32-year-old Grantown man grew up to £21,000 of cannabis in the loft of his home.

Marcin Rozwadowski of Strathspey Court admitted producing cannabis on July 17,2016, at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood that police received information that there may be a cannabis farm in the property and obtained a search warrant.

“Officers found tents, lamps, other equipment and cannabis plants in the loft with a total of between £6,000 and £21,000.

“There was no indication of supply. He told officers that he had a cannabis habit. He said he was growing it for himself instead of buying it elsewhere.”

Sheriff Fleetwood told defence lawyer Marc Dickson: “The worrying aspect is that he was growing it in a house with a young child.”

Rozwadowski was ordered to carry out 250 hours of unpaid community work. All plants and equipment were confiscated.
